- Do not wear makeup on the day of the treatment (if treating the face area).
- Do not consume alcohol 48 hours before your appointment.
- Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks before treatment (waxing, depilatories, etc.).
- Let us know of any changes to your health history or medications since your last appointment.
- A history of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription before face treatments.
- If you choose to use a numbing cream, please do so before your appointment start time. We can remove the cream but do not have time to start the numbing process.
- no new tattoos (anywhere on the body) for a min of 3 weeks prior
- no sun exposure, tanning beds, spray tanning, or self-tanning lotions for 2-4 weeks prior
- no waxing, tweezing, threading, or hair removal cream
- certain drugs, antibiotics being one of the worst offenders, can make your skin more photosensitive to the laser. If your doctor prescribes any medications you will be taking up to/on your treatment date, ensure they are not photosensitive. If so, you must have taken your last dose more than 7 days before your scheduled treatment.
- Inflammatory skin condition in the treatment area (Eczema (okay if not on treatment spot), Psoriasis (can make a flair-up worse), Dermatitis, Active HSV 1 or 2)
- light-sensitive/photosensitive medications—7-10 days
- Light-sensitive/photosensitive topical agents (including but not limited to): (Rentin A®, HydroquinoneV, Renova®, Retinal®) — 7-10 days
- radiation or Chemotherapy within the last year
- Accutane® or Isotretinoin within the last 6 months to a year
- no neuromodulators or dermal fillers in the treatment area—2 weeks
- no laser procedures, chemical peels, or PDO threads in the treatment area—4 weeks
- open wounds or cold sores in the treatment area
- steroids or anticoagulants may alter the results
- lotions with shimmer or glitter (must be completely removed)
- any questionable medications, diseases, or conditions, refer to your doctor for clearance
- if you have had any of these within 2 weeks of a scheduled treatment, we will have to reschedule, and a new deposit will have to be left.
- Eat a good meal and drink plenty of water before your appointment.
The last thing we want is for you to be inconvenienced or out a deposit, so PLEASE remember to discontinue/avoid any of the above that apply to you.
